On the day that Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty is formally triggered, our VC Dominic Shellard is in Warsaw holding a #LoveInternational event with current and prospective Polish students.

Alongside this important event and meetings with Polish media, we’ve suggested that if he has time he takes a look at the impressive Biblioteka Uniwersytecka w Warszawie – Warsaw University Library.

This stunning building provides a positive reference point for us in our aspirations for a #FutureLibrary and ticks many of the themes that DMU students highlighted in our initial engagement exercises during the Autumn term. With a hectare of outside rooftop space for contemplation and relaxation, how’s that for a roof garden? We’ll be looking at many other examples of stunning international library architecture in the course of this project and highlighting them here for your thoughts and comment.
